Van Mahotsav Celebration, June 28th 2026

The ICYM Ashoknagar Unit organized a Van Mahotsav Celebration on 28th June 2026, following the 8:00 a.m. Holy Mass, near the Church Grotto.The programme was gracefully compered by Ms. Gleyona Mendonca, who welcomed the gathering and introduced the purpose of the celebration. The gathering was then addressed by the ICYM Unit Director and Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Daniel Veigas, who emphasized the vital role of youth in protecting and nurturing nature. He encouraged everyone to actively contribute towards preserving the environment and creating a greener future.

The celebration was also graced by the presence of the ICYM Episcopal City Deanery Committee members:

Mr. Avin D'Souza – Amcho Yuvak Representative

Following the address, the ICYM members, along with the dignitaries, were invited to plant one sapling each near the grotto. This symbolic initiative reflected the commitment of the youth towards environmental conservation. The primary aim of the programme was to beautify the church grotto with greenery and plants while creating awareness about the importance of preserving nature. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by the singing of the ICYM Anthem, marking the successful end of the Van Mahotsav celebration. The Van Mahotsav celebration successfully inspired the parish community, especially the youth, to take responsibility for protecting the environment and reaffirmed ICYM Ashoknagar's commitment to promoting ecological awareness and sustainable living.
