Independence Football Cup 2026

The Ashoknagar ICYM team participated in the Independence Cup 2026 Football Tournament, organised by St. Peter’s City Deanery, and emerged as the Champions. The tournament was held on 16 August 2026 at Global Sports Arena, Vamanjoor. Our ICYM members actively supported and encouraged the team by being present at the venue and cheering them throughout the matches. The team displayed excellent teamwork, determination and sportsmanship and secured the championship title. They were awarded a trophy and cash prize for their outstanding performance.

On 17 August 2026, the winning team members were invited and honoured by the ICYM Assistant Director Fr. Meckenzie Mendonca. The trophy was formally presented to the church as a proud achievement of the Ashoknagar ICYM unit. All the ICYM committee members were present during the felicitation. The members who represented the Ashoknagar ICYM team in the football tournament were Joel Lobo, Caldon Dsouza, Nash Rodrigues, Ashton Fernandes, Maclean Pinto, Shaun Noronha and Samson Olivera. The gathering concluded with refreshments served to all the members. The achievement was a proud moment for the entire Ashoknagar ICYM team and brought great joy and honour to the church community.
