Free Medical Camp 2023

St. Dominic Church Ashoknagar, Catholic Sabha Ashoknagar Unit in association with the Commission for Inter religious Diologue, Commission for Health, Commission for Labourers in association with Shree Sharadha Pooja Samithi Urva Store, Mangala Friends Circle Urva Store and Father Muller’s Medical College Hospital organized a Free Medical Camp on Sunday 5th March 2023 in Manasa Mantapa Urva Store from 9am to 1.30 pm.

The camp began invoking the blessings of the Almighty through a Prayer Song. The President of the Catholic Sabha Mr. Winson Dsouza welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering. Rev. Fr. Daniel Veigas, Parish Priest of Ashoknagar Church inaugurated the camp by lighting the lamp along with the other dignitaries on the dais. In his message he appreciated the good work of all associations and conveyed good wishes to all the participants of the health camp. Mr. Maxim Crasta, Vice President of Parish Council also addressed the gathering and spoke on the importance of health. Dr. Sunaina Bhat informed the gathering that in case they were unable to get certain facilities in the medical camp, they could approach Fr.Muller’s Hospital to avail the same.

The other dignitaries present on the dais were Mrs. Debhora Locker, the Secretary of Parish Council, Mrs. Meera Mendonca the Secretary of Catholic Sabha and Coodinator of 21 Commissions, Mr.Welwin Castelinho the coordinator of Health Commission, Mr. Norgy Dsilva, the Coordinator of Labour Commission and Mr. Ramesh L Shetty,the President of Mangala Friends Circle Urva Store.

Facilities like General Medicine, BP & Sugar Test, ECG, Opthalmogy - cataract surgery, gynecology, Dermatology and Orthopedic were made available to all the participants.

325 people availed the benefits of this camp. Free Medicines were distributed to all the patients and 229 spectacles were distributed freely to the needy patients. The Doctors who rendered service in various departments during the camp, referred about 50 patients for further treatment in Fr. Mullers Hospital. 40 Father Muller’s Health cards were issued.

The Convener of the camp and Ex-President of Catholic Sabha Mr. Ronald Colaco, proposed the Vote of Thanks. Mr. Rajendra, member of Mangala Friends Circle compered the programme. Delicious breakfast and sumptuous lunch was served to the doctors and guests. The camp was a grand success.
