Holy Cross Ward, Kodical A - Month Of May- Marian Devotion

The members of the Holy cross ward celebrated the month of May with devotion to Mother Mary where the statue of Mother Mary was taken from house to house each day and the rosary was prayed and reflections were read. On the 1st of May at 6 pm the rosary began at Morning Star -residence of Henry & Mary Monteiro who generously gave their statue of Mother Mary to be taken from house to house.

Each day the ward members from the neighboring homes gathered at 6 pm and prayed the rosary, had some fellowship and then the statue was taken to the next home to be kept for the day, the angelus was prayed and they returned back home.

This month witnessed the closeness and bonding of the ward members as they came each day along with little children to pray. We prayed for various intentions and it was such a beautiful thing to see the children leading the rosary.

The desire of the Gurkar Norgil D’silva to bring the ward members closer to each other was fulfilled through this daily rosary. The last day 29th of May a large number of people, youth and children gathered at Amazing Grace- residence of Leslie & Debbie Locker for the conclusion of the rosary month. Fr Aquin Noronha the parish priest was present and he gave his message and also applauded the Gurkar for his initiative and also mentioned that we could replicate this next year in other wards too.

The whole month was something to look forward to in the evenings where people could gather and pray together and bond as a family.
