Vailankanni Ward / Kodical B – Ward Day

On Sunday the 13th October 2019 the families of Vailankanni Ward/ Kodical B celebrated their ‘Ward Day’ with great pomp and noise. The ward members attended the Holy Mass in the morning .The cultural programme was held in the evening at Mrs. Josepine Pereira’s residence near Kodikal katte. All the family members of the ward assembled at 5.30p.m. Mrs. Philomena D’ Souza and Mr Benedict Veigas conducted the Rosary and prayer service.

The cultural pragramme consisted of a variety of items. Master Sheldon Fernandes, master Shawn Veigas and Mrs.Wilma Nazareth performed solo singing, Mrs. Reema and Mrs. Prescilla duet singing and three little kids Alvisha, Andrisha andAdlit, performed group singing. An action song sung by the three little kids was eye catching. A skit enacted by Mrs..Elveera, Mrs. Euginea and Mrs. Reema conveyed a message for a peaceful life in a family. Ms. Anisha, Ms Cecilia Durao and Ms. Mitchelle danced to the tune of a Hindi song which was amazing. The Females and Males group together performed the ‘Mando singing’which was fascinating.

Mr.Vinol Pinto and Mr. Chris Crasta conducted variety of games for different groups as well as spot games and the winners were awarded with prizes.

A brief stage programme was held wherein ‘The annual report’ was read, felicitated the youths who have completed their graduation in any discipline. Ms Anisha D’Souza the New president of the I.C.Y.M .was introduced by Mrs.Euginea Pinto and honoured on this occasion. Mrs. Elveera D’Souza spoke a few words to express the gratitude to Mr. Martin Lasrado the former gurkar and felicitated by offering a bouquet of flowers and a memento as a token of love and respect .The new gurkarn Mrs. Benedicta D’Souza was welcomed .Our parish priest Fr. Aquin Noronha O.P., Asst Parish priest Fr.Royston Lobo, parish council vice president Mr. Richard Gonsalves, secretary Mr.Isaac Furtado, SCC co- ordinator Mrs Euginea Pinto, Mrs .Benedicta D’Souza, Mr. Stany D’Cruz, and Mrs. lveera D’Souza were on the daes.

Seeing the crowd of the ward people assembled Fr. Aquin Norona in his message said that our ward members are ever ready to contribute their service whenever required. He also insisted that they must attend the ward SCC meetings in large number. The asst. p.p. Fr. Royston Lobo blessed the food prepared by the ward members at Mr. Herbert D’Souza’s residence

Mrs. Benedicta D’Souza welcomed the gathering, Mrs. Josephine Pereira proposed the vote of thanks and Mr. Benedict Veigas compered the program.
