Visit to the Ashram 'Ashraya' by first Holy Communion Children in Bejai

In preparation for the First Holy Communion a memorable day was arranged for the Children of St. Dominic Church, Ashoknagar to pay a visit to the Ashram ‘Ashraya’ an orphanage located at Anegundi in Bejai on 11th November 2018. The parents, teacher Juliana Crasta and Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Aquin Noronha accompanied 19 children of St. Dominic Church to the Ashram. More than 11 inmates (children) from the Ashram expressed their warm welcome for the parish children.

A variety entertainment program was organised by children from both sides which began at 3.30 pm with the help of God’s blessings invoked by Fr. Aquin Noronha and the recitation of the rosary. Children sang songs and performed dances. A comedy skit was performed by the teacher and team. Snacks and cool drinks were served. Gifts were distributed to the children and cash Rs. 7,000/ was offered to the centre. Games were conducted and prizes were distributed to the winners.

In his message the Parish Priest Fr. Aquin highlighted the importance of the visit and invited those children for the Christmas tree program with the Parish children scheduled for 16th December at 6pm at St. Dominic Church hall, Ashoknagar. Mrs. Nathalia Furtado compered the program. A sum of Rs. 7,500 was also offered on this memorable day to white doves by teacher Juliana Crasta on behalf of children and parents.

The Parish children of St. Dominic Church are on their way to receive the First Holy Communion on 25th November, Sunday during 9 a.m Eucharistic celebration on the solemnity of Jesus Christ, the king of the universe. We wish Children best of luck and a spiritual experience of the presence of Christ in their hearts.
