Varado Altar Servers Milan 2018 at Valencia

The Altar Servers of St. Dominic Church, Ashoknagar gathered at the church compound at 8:30 a.m. on 6th November 2018 to go for the altar servers Milan held at Valencia Parish. The children started their day with the prayer by invoking the grace of almighty God. The servers left for Valencia Church at 8.50 a.m. On reaching Valencia there was an inaugural programme. One member from each parish was called to light the lamp. There were 11 parishes and nearly 300 Altar Servers with their animators attended the Milan. From St. Dominic Church Sr. Jyothi from St. Joseph’s convent and Mrs. Sunitha Lasrado from Kodical A accompanied the servers as animators. Bishop Emirthus Aloysius Paul Dsouza gave an inspiring message about our spiritual responsibility and duty about altar serving. The servers were divided into groups. They were asked to make circle for the various games and group activities. Breakfast was served around 11:00am. In the first inspiring session on 'How do we serve and partake in the Eucharist celebration and make it meaningful without getting distraction’ children came to know many new things. The children learnt various names of holy things used for the mass. To make the Milan very exiting there were action songs and games. The second session on ‘awareness on Social Media and Internet’ was explained by the help of audio visuals by Fr. Anil Fernandes. The talk was followed by lunch and ice cream. After lunch to make our groups active and alive there were group activities. Fr. Ivan Martha and team members dealt on an interesting topic on ‘Leadership and Talents' with the help of some magic and helped us to become good leaders in the future. The servers also had an opportunity to shake their hips through the performance of dance. Before the members left for their homes juice and some snacks was served. Children reached home at 5:00 pm. Last but not the least it was a memorable day filled with thrill, happiness, fun, and enthusiasm. Long live altar servers of Ashoknagar, Mangalore.
